A low-carbon society through international law

16 May
15.00-17.15
Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Brunnsgatan 2, Stockholm
Skiljedom
On 16 May 2019, the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and Haga Initiative invite to a seminar that will explore how international law can contribute to creating a low carbon society.

The Paris Agreement has been successful in carving out the road ahead to address climate change. But does it incentivize enough action on the ground? Why are investors still reluctant to scale up green investments?

Those are the questions that will be explored in an afternoon seminar organized by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the Haga Initiative on 16 May 2019. Experts from the private sector and government will discuss how international law could truly make a difference for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Among the confirmed speakers is the Swedish Ambassador for Climate Change, Lars RonnÄs.

The seminar also aims to celebrate the conclusion of the first edition of the global innovation competition, Stockholm Treaty Lab. A representative of both winning teams will present their ideas on how to boost green investments using an instrument of international law.
