Internship Opportunity with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce India
Our work is focused on three main areas
Partnership in policy where we engage with regulatory stakeholders on ease of doing business and policy development for the future. An important tool for us is our annual Business Climate Survey
Impact Sweden by taking on collaborative projects between companies with focus on holistic sustainability; we work a lot with gender related questions and environment
Sharing the network of companies and individuals is the foundation and heart of the Chamber. We build platforms for engagement, creative meeting places and facilitate exchange of experiences and knowledge
We are based out of Delhi but cover the whole of India- with Pune in Maharashtra and Bangalore in Karnataka as our other two main focal points.
India is one of the worldâs fastest growing economies. Often referred to as the worldâs biggest democracy with a 1.2 billion strong population, the country is multi-faceted and diverse in all possible ways. Enough said. You will have to come here to discover more.
ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
This internship opportunity is made possible thanks to Scholarship Fund for Swedish Youth Abroad.
We are looking for someone who wants to join us as an intern and take part in the work of the Chamber for one year.
During your time with us we will engage you in every aspect of the Chamberâs activities to drive our strategic agenda. The work requires you to have excellent people skills, to be organised and have a knack for administration. We want you to pay attention to details but never lose sight of the bigger picture.
We appreciate your ability to conduct in-depth studies independently, prepare topic specific material and creatively work with all this to bring Swedish industry to the forefront.
ABOUT YOU
In one sense we are not so bothered about your educational background, but more interested to see if you would fit into our team and context. However, we believe you have come towards the end of your studies and that you have some work experience; if that has been gained through summer placements, other internships or gap year does not matter.
Since we are a Chamber of Commerce, we think you are probably pursuing a Masters in business and commerce, engineering and management, communication, marketing, project management, policy, economics, law, international relations and/or development.
PRACTICALITIES
The internship period is for one year, starting in August or January. The internship has no monetary compensation, as SCCI is a non-profit organization. However, linked to this position is a scholarship through the Scholarship Fund for Swedish Youth Abroad and you may also apply for other scholarships. Some students, depending on the university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN.
SCCI will assist with the visa application.
You will have to sort out living quarters, insurance and other practicalities by yourself. We will advise and guide you as much as possible.
ABOUT APPLYING
Apply for this internship if you are ready to do everything we throw at you. Ranging from picking up pastries in the Defence Colony Bakery for a breakfast seminar with HR managers or prepare a policy dialogue with a state government. We are a small team but with a large reach. To be able to work independently is therefore important.
Apply if you have a passion for people, for societal growth and development, and sustainable business practices. We work especially with questions such as gender equality and equity, and climate change in the context of companies, individuals and society at large.
Apply if you are creative, eager and curious to learn and stubborn enough to see something through to the end.
If you are interested, tell us a bit about yourself, your interests and your background. Write in English and send it to karan.dua@swedishchamber.in
